Net25 Talent Search at the Unlad Kabuhayan Summit 2012

No comments:
We went to the World Trade Center in Pasay City last Sunday afternoon to witness the opening of the three-day Unlad Kabuhayan Summit 2012. We arrived at the venue 2 hours ahead. Despite the long queues at the entrance, we were lucky  to be one of the hundreds or maybe thousands of attendess to roam around the exhibit area. The entire venue was jampacked with people.

Our First stop: Net25 Talent Search... My daughter Thea, together with Neryz (Yasmin's cousin) and Alexandra (our neighbor) auditioned for on-cam talents. It was a funny and memorable experience. So what happened during Thea's audition? Since we are practicing a lot of OPM songs in preparation for the Awit Patimpalak in Thea's school where she's one of the contestants. She sung Isang Lahi...We'll she's not in the mood to sing a Taylor Swift or Katy Perry hehe. She showed her dancing and acting talent, too. Let's see what will happen next. According to the interviewer, Net25 is preparing for new shows and there will be another audition for children. Hope we'll receive a call for the next round of auditions.

Back to being an OFW Family

No comments:

Just a couple of days from now, my hardworking husband will leave for another year of overseas job. After almost three months of vacation, he'll again endure the challenges of being away from us.If only he can find a good job here or if only we have enough capital to start a small-scale business, he will stay here for good.

Being one of the OFW families, we also gone through ups and downs especially in terms of finances. We agreed that this time, we'll focus on saving so that we can start a small business when he come back one or two years from now. I know this entails a lot of hard work but if we work on this together, we will attain our goal, that is to provide our children a more comfortable life and a promising future.

Massive Flooding Hit Metro Manila and nearby Provinces

No comments:
According to the latest update on Yahoo News, heavy rains brought by the southwest monsoon has so far left 49 people dead, 26 of which are from Metro Manila, as most cities and provinces remain submerged in heavy floods.

States of calamity have been declared in Marikina, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Muntinlupa, San Juan, Pasig, Pasay, Caloocan and Pateros in Metro Manila; in the provinces of Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Olongapo City and Zambales in Region III; Laguna in Region IV-A; and in the Palawan municipalities of Culion, El Nido and Linacapan in Region IV-B

Classes have been suspended since Monday, and we have no work for two days and I even extended another day just to finish my laundry and help my husband in cleaning the house.  Though, our was flooded, we're still fortunate that the floodwater did not enter our house. Our problem was the leaks from the roof and walls. The hampers containing the laundry got wet, so I have to wash them immediately to prevent molds from accumulating.

My husband braved the flooded streets last Tuesday just to attend the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS), a requirement for Filipinos who are planning to work or settle overseas. He walked in the flooded streets , from Makati Avenue all the way to our house (in Kalentong, Mandaluyong).

Let us all pray for everyone's safety. Take care and God Bless!

My Bedroom Reorganizing Inspiration Board

No comments:
this is my inspiration board at the moment. The three essentials things I need are closet organizers,
new set of curtains and matress on the floor.

My husband and I are talking about reorganizing our two bedrooms. We've been sleeping in the room that my sister and nephew used to occupy. Now, we are thinking of removing the bed in there and convert it to living room slash kids' play area.  The master's bedroom, on the other hand became vacant for more than a month now. So, we  are going to re-arrange the rooms a bit.

I will post the before and after photos of our project later.
