HAPI: Homeschooling Success Stories

No comments:
I've been reading a lot of  positive feedback from parents of home-schooled children. In fact, more and more Filipinos have used this alternative mode of learning wherein they can provide quality education to their children at the comfort of their own homes.

In the wildly competitive and demanding world of today, what does it take to reach your goals and stand out?

With tailor-fit tools that include learning context, curriculum, enrichment activities, support groups, and a standard to benchmark against, homeschooling has been made a prime educational option and means to achieve success in modern society. Locally, Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition Top 5  Louise Mabulo, child genius Darrell Tan, and cum laude graduate-basketball star Paul Tan-Chi are but some sterling testimonies of this.

Here’s a peek on why they put homeschooling in such high regard and how they think this platform is a prime educational option:

Darrell Tan: Genius I.Q. Child

For a 10-year old boy with a genius I.Q. and so much potential, you would think that he would prefer conventional schooling over home education. But Darrell Tan is a proof that learning within the four walls of the home actually equates to learning with no walls—no boundaries in discovering knowledge and experiences of the world beyond. What I like best about homeschooling—I enjoy learning from my parents, which is why we are close. I have the biggest classroom in the world because I can take my work anywhere. I can also have more activities, like chess, sports, etc. I have many friends of all ages, as Darrell declares.

SaYa Baby Carrier

No comments:
With all the family bonding lined-up, I am thinking of buying a new baby carrier for my 17 month old Yohan. While browsing the net,  photos of parents using SaYa Baby pouches caught my attention. I want to experience baby wearing, too. I bet my husband likes to try it also.

Planning a Birthday Treat for the Little Lady

No comments:
Three days from now, my husband will arrive and we want his vacation worthwhile. As early as now, we have already plans for the next two months. Our eldest will turn 6 on April 25 while we will celebrate my 35th year of existence on May 24. A wedding will also take place on May 1st wherein the daughter will be one of the flower girls. My husband's vacation will definitely fun and exciting!

For daughter's big day, we will go to the Manila Ocean Park and Mall of Asia. For my birthday, I am dreaming of a kitchen makeover (praying that my husband will be able to read this). A brand new dining is coming by first week of May as I am expecting my Google Adsense earnings to be released early next month, yay!

I have to prepare his requested menus upon his arrival -that is MIL's version of menudo called guiso and my mango float.

See you soon, Papa. Have a safe travel (on Friday)...

Earthlingorgeous.com Dream Makeover Contest

No comments:
I've joined  Earth's (of earthlingorgeous.com) giveaways several times and won twice. When I read her teaser post about the EG Dream Makeover, I immediately tell her that I am interested to join. I really need a head-to-toe pampering. I've been busy mommying to my super active kids, which made me neglect the so-called "me time".

Bunch and bunch of thanks to Earthlingorgeous.com and the generous sponsors Shu Uemura, The Blounge Salon, SM Ladies Fashion, and Beauty and Butter for this fabulous contest.

Now, I have to tag some friends, pose for a photo so that I can share it on my Facebook wall as part of the contest mechanics.

UPDATE:

I already joined the #EG Dream Makeover. Here's the photo I posted on FB:

Family Summer Outing - April 2012

1 comment:
We had an early morning drive to North Luzon last Friday, April 6th. Long hours of travel paid off when we saw the kids wading in the pool in the resort somewhere in Nueva Ecija. This is just the first of the series of our out-of-town trips scheduled this summer. We'll definitely go back there on May 1 for my husband's niece wedding. And in few weeks time, he (the husband) will be arriving for vacation which could mean another swimming spree or other summer activities with the kids.

Slater Young named PBB Unlimited Big Winner

No comments:
Slater Young, an engineer from Cebu emerged as the Big Winner of the recently concluded Pinoy Big Brother Unlimited. He was the first male winner in a regular PBB season following Nene Tamayo in 2005, Beatriz Saw in 2007, and Melai Cantiveros in 2010.

I am happy with the result though my bet Pamu (Annielie Pamorada) landed on the second place. Slater deserves to win the reality search for he demonstrated leadership and other good qualities inside Bahay ni Kuya.

Joseph Biggel and Paco Evangelista got the 3rd and 4th place, respectively.

In an interview with Slater in the The Buzz, Slater said that he's ready to enter showbiz.
