I've been reading a lot of positive feedback from parents of home-schooled children. In fact, more and more Filipinos have used this alternative mode of learning wherein they can provide quality education to their children at the comfort of their own homes.
In the wildly competitive and demanding world of today, what does it take to reach your goals and stand out?
With tailor-fit tools that include learning context, curriculum, enrichment activities, support groups, and a standard to benchmark against, homeschooling has been made a prime educational option and means to achieve success in modern society. Locally, Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition Top 5 Louise Mabulo, child genius Darrell Tan, and cum laude graduate-basketball star Paul Tan-Chi are but some sterling testimonies of this.
Here’s a peek on why they put homeschooling in such high regard and how they think this platform is a prime educational option:
Darrell Tan: Genius I.Q. Child
For a 10-year old boy with a genius I.Q. and so much potential, you would think that he would prefer conventional schooling over home education. But Darrell Tan is a proof that learning within the four walls of the home actually equates to learning with no walls—no boundaries in discovering knowledge and experiences of the world beyond. What I like best about homeschooling—I enjoy learning from my parents, which is why we are close. I have the biggest classroom in the world because I can take my work anywhere. I can also have more activities, like chess, sports, etc. I have many friends of all ages, as Darrell declares.
