Kulturang Pilipino, Ipinagmamalaki Ko (I'm Proud of the Filipino Culture)

No comments:
Headstart Schools of Mandaluyong marks  its 36th Foundation Anniversary. This year's theme is "Kulturang Pilipino, Ipinagmamalaki Ko." As part of the annual celebration, preschool pupils from their 10 branches showcased their talents in dancing famous Filipino folk dances last February 17, 2011. This is a great opportunity for the preschoolers to become familiar with the Filipino cultures and traditions. The school administrator said that through this activity, the young ones are being reminded of how rich and beautiful our culture is. This makes me reminisce my elementary and high school days. Though I'm no good in dancing, I was given the chance to participate in school activities like this.

Headstart School's Foundation Day

No comments:
Thea's school - Headstart Schools of Mandaluyong will be celebrating their Annual Foundation Day tomorrow, February 17, 2011. The activity will take place in Mandaluyong Gymnasium at 9:00 in the morning. Kinder A where Thea belongs will be performing a La Jota dance. I am yet to see what's their costume. Excited mom over here teehee! Oopps not only me, because her Papa will witness her showcase her talent in a school activity for the very first time. I just hope she'll perform in sync with her classmates tomorrow because as per her teacher's feedback, she's doing the dance in her own pace haha. She knows the steps but I think she's dancing as if she's doing a solo performance. I promised to treat her at Jollibee after the activity.

My second recipe for my Fish and Veggie Weekend is Sinigang na Maya Maya sa Sampalok
Sinigang is a Filipino soup or stew characterized by its sour flavor most often associated with tamarind  osampalok (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinigang). Sinigang is my personal favorite, be it with pork, shrimp or fish.

Avon Baby Tear-Free Head-to-Toe Wash and Shampoo Review

No comments:
Avon, the leading company for women, broaden their product segments and launched Avon Baby product range during the last quarter of 2010. Honestly, when I first heard about their baby products, I was quite hesitant to try them on my babies. I'm afraid to change the current brand I'm using especially when it comes to baby wash and shampoo. I said, I will never try other product that might be harmful for my baby's skin. But... I was all wrong... With my sister's (who's now an Avon sales representative) encouragement, I finally tried Avon Baby Tear-Free Head-to-Toe Wash and Shampoo for my little boy Yohan.  This 2-in-1 baby wash and shampoo is mild and gentle and causes no irritation to my baby's eyes and skin. I also love its smell. Being happy with this product, I will definitely try the Moisturizing Lotion and Soothing Oil.

My Entry:
Being a full-time working mom is a bit challenging. It is not an easy task for we have to balance our family and career and see to it the none of the two would be compromised. I've been working for more than 10 years and married for 5 years. But as time goes by, I've learned about time management and patience.Aside from working I'm also active in fulfilling my duties in our church as choir member.
Though I have my sister who assists in taking care of my kids and in household chores, I'm still the one responsible for keeping the house in order. I cook, do the laundry, clean the house and take care of the needs of my husband and children. My youngest who is only 3 months old really needs my utmost attention. I have to wake up as early as 4:30am and stay up late until 12 midnight. With the multiple roles as a working mom, I manage to be a LOUD and PROUD mommy to my 2 beautiful children.

----
To join the contest, visit http://www.nuffnang.com.ph/blog/2011/02/08/tommy-hilfigers-loud-contest/ for more information. Note: The first 30 valid Nuffnangers will win a pair of 7 ml Loud For Him and Loud For Her .

I Want My Files Back

No comments:

My 10 years old office PC has finally given up. Its CPU is already damaged according to our technicians. They had a back-up copy of my files in there, unfortunately the back-up files cannot be retrieved anymore. They have to return to the supplier the newly purchased external drive they used in storing my files.  I am using a new workstation now. Thanks but I also want my files back....

I Am Grateful Because...

2 comments:
Life in this world is getting harder every single day, but instead of complaining,we to be thankful for the countless blessings from our Almighty God. Amid the trials I've encountered in 2010, there are many things I am grateful for. Let me share the three great things that happened last year.
  • I am grateful because God blessed us  with the most wonderful gift of all - a healthy and handsome baby boy. I gave birth via normal spontaneous delivery last November  4, 2010. My journey as a pregnant mom was not an easy one, but I am still blessed for God spared me and my baby from the traumatic incidents that happened within the 9-month journey. I lost my brother last April. Come the month of July, I accidentally fell from the stairs in our office building (3 steps down to the 2nd floor lobby).  And during the time that I am recuperating from the injuries acquired during the accident, another brother had a motorcycle accident that made me worry big time. In spite of these, nothing happened to me and my precious one.
  • My husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary last August 20, 2010. I am thankful for being blessed with a loving and understanding partner. I thank my husband for making my imperfections perfect. I thank him for his unconditional love.

New Year's Eve 2011. Yohan is not in photo coz this was taken at my SIL's,
while the little boy was sleeping in our house.

  • I am grateful for having such a wonderful family. An innocent smile and a warm hug from Thea and Yohan ease my troubles away. They are my inspiration.

Cuddle time with my babies after a tiring day of work.
  • I am grateful for having a stable job. In fact, I celebrated my 10th year in the City Government of Makati. Working in the country's premier city is such an honor. I'm glad to be part of the city planning and development office and participate in various training workshops aimed at realizing the vision of the City for the 21th century. Aside from this, I am also part of a team which is active in the promotion of gender and development. Participating in advocacy programs and activities makes my job a fulfilling one.
