Dora the Explorer Turns 10

No comments:
My little girl is a big fan of Dora the Explorer, the fearless adventurer who has children hypnotized every morning. It was Dora who taught her to count 1 to 10, both in English and Spanish.

I guess, most of the little girls out there love this smart Latina. In fact, she's patiently waiting for August 23rd for the premiere of Dora's Birthday Adventure on nickjr.

So kids out there, don't forget to watch Dora's Big Birthday Adventure TV movie premiere on August 23, 2010 at 12pm and 7pm in Nickelodeon (or Channel 45 on local Skycable). In the final episode on the Magic Storybook trilogy and a nod to the Wizard of Oz, Dora and her friend Boots need to get home for Dora's exciting birthday party with family and all her friends...

World Breastfeeding Week

No comments:

August 1-7 every year is World Breastfeeding Week. It is commemorated is more than 120 countries worldwide to encourage breastfeeding. Breastfeeding provides newborn babies with the nutrients they need in order to grow healthy and strong. The celebration is being spearheaded by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nation's Children's Fund (UNICEF).

It is recommended that a baby should be exclusively breastfed until six months old, and should be continued breastfeeding with additional nutritious food for up to two years and beyond. Now that my second baby is coming out very soon, I promise to breastfeed him exclusively. I haven't done that with my first born because we practiced mixed feeding. And at the time I resumed working, she became more comfortable with bottle feeding. Somehow, I regret it that's why I will do my best to do the right thing this time, that is to breastfeed my baby boy...

The Day I Slipped and Fell From the Stairs

8 comments:
Thursday, July 29, 2010 at around 10am, I went down from our office using the stairs, since the elevator broke down again. While going down to the second floor, I accidentally slipped in the 3rd to the last step and fell down. Several people near the area came to rescue me. I nearly cry thinking more about my baby's safety. Though I didn't passed out, I suffered from bruises on the left of my head (above the ear) and on my shoulders, thighs and legs. I was confined at the hospital from more than 24 hours. Thanks God, me and my baby is safe after all the tests (ultrasound, etc).
