Day 11

Following the suggested Fitnesse meal plan religiously, coupled with regular exercise yields positive results...I am so happy that I can't help it but share this amazing news with you. As the weighing scale says, I have already surpassed the target...

Thanks, team mates for the words of encouragement and motivation.
My only problem now is my bulging tummy. I'm aiming for a flatter tummy, but of course I need more exercise/work out. Last night, before retiring to bed after a loongg day at work and graduate school class, I've read few chapter of my "Flat Belly Diet" book. I got the book last year as a prize from joining an online contest. Itold my self that I will continue the Fitnesse diet and follow the suggested work-outs from the book such as brisk walking and some easier work outs that don't require too much gym equipment.
There are only 3 days left before the Weigh Off and I think our team is ready.
Online voting is still on-going. So friends, please vote for our team and help us make it till the finals and ultimately win those designer wardrobes...

Diet Diary: Day 1-6

To keep track of my food intake, I am keeping a diet diary both on a small notebook and on my personal blog (http://wengzaballa.blogspot.com/).

Today's the 6th day of the 14-day challenge. For breakfast, I ate 1/2 cup of Nestle Fitnesse Whole Grain (Orginal Flavor) with 1/2 cup Low Fat Milk, coffee and fruits.

Here's my usual menu:

Breakfast: ½ cup Nestle Fitness Original with ½ cup Low Fat Milk 1 fruit coffee
AM Snack: Fruit or crackers
Lunch:Fish or Mixed Vegetables Wheat Bread or 1/2 cup rice
PM Snack: Crackers. Sometimes I drink coffee
Dinner: ½ cup Nestle Fitness Original with ½ cup Low Fat Milk 1 fruit

I’ve found a fitness buddy at home, guess who? My 3 year old daughter Althea haha… She’s been eating my Fitnesse too- she calls it Cereals for Mommies. She also joins me on my 15 - 20 minute exercise routine this morning.

I bought 2 packs of Fitnesse last Wednesday. I was so delighted because they have another promo. I got a free Les Mills BodyCombat workout VCD from Nestle Fitnesse. yay!

BODYCOMBAT™ is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai. Supported by driving music and powerful role model instructors strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness.(Source: http://www.lesmills.com/ ).

I tried the VCD this morning, though its pretty hard, I can say that it would really helped burn those extra calories. Nestle' Fitnesse in collaboration with Les Mills provided a revolutionary to keep up our healthier shape.

I really enjoyed doing the workout together with my little angel Althea :D.

MomWena's Journey to a Healthier Shape - Part 1

Saturday, November 14, 2009 marks the beginning of my 14-day journey to healthier shape that I used to have 4 years ago. Through an invitation of an online blogger-friend Earth, I was luckily chosen as one of her team mates to participate in the NESTLE FITNESSE 14 days to Show off Your Shape challenge. Our team was formed online by Earth and the 4 of us only met last Saturday. Joining the quest was not easy as you may think. During the initial weigh in, one of the dieticians told us that two of our team members, including myself, is not qualified because our body mass index (BMI) is above 25. I felt sad. After availing the free make-over, one of the contest organizers and the dietician who measured our BMIs approached and said that we can still participate in the contest provided that we should lose 2 lbs or more after the 14-day diet regimen. That was a slight misunderstanding re: contest mechanics and we accepted their apologies. The incident is one of the motivating factors to attain our goal of losing weight and winning the contest.

You might ask, what’s the buzz in joining the contest?? In NESTLE FITNESSE 14 days to Show off Your Shape, fashion and fitness come together to give style mavens a break at the most coveted designer wardrobe to hit Manila while getting in tip-top shape. To achieve that:
- Form a team of 2-8 members,
- Follow the NESTLE FITNESSE 14-day meal plan,
- Post and promote their 14-day regimen online (blogs, social networking sites, etc.),
- Ask their friends to VOTE for their entries,
- And finally…cross their fingers for Manila’s most coveted designer wardrobe.
Meet the Team Earthlingorgeousness: Me, Belle, Earth (Team Leader) and Kessa.
Showing off the most awaited prizes - 8 pieces of designer wardrobes: 7 for All Mankind Jeans (the one I'm holding), Rhett Eala Gown, Michi Calica Dress, Kate Torralba Dress, Religioso Dress, Jun Escario Top, and Hermes Belt.

On Stress and Anxieties

There are lots of things that lead me to a stressful week. First, I got a low grade in one of my subjects. Yeah I know! It’s not the grade, but the knowledge gained which we could apply not only in our tasks at work but in everyday life. My failure to submit some requirements might be one of the reasons behind it. Nevertheless, it’s still within the passing mark and the fact that I’m getting closer to earning a master’s degree lessens my “frustrations”.

Secondly, I am faced with a family problem that needs urgent action. Urgent means now, urgent means tonight! Wish me luck friends. Lord, please grant me the courage to face this predicament. Thanks to my husband for being always at my side, teaching and guiding me the best thing to do in these difficult times.

The delayed house renovation also adds stress. I am hoping that it’ll be completed within this week so that the little lady and I can transfer to the new and wider bedroom. I might go back to Divisoria this coming weekend to shop for some home items such as bed sheets, laundry paraphelia, etc.

Oh by the way, a fellow blogger invited me in the Nestle` Fitnesse 14-day Diet Challenge as a member of her team. The weigh-in is scheduled on November 14. I hope that participating in the challenge will ease my worries and at the same time lose some weight :)
Bye for now, working mom needs to go and report for her night shift duties @home.
